The Trachtenver­ein Wit­ten­berg e.V. was foun­ded in 1995 and is ded­ic­ated to pre­serving and his­tor­ic­ally reen­act­ing the cloth­ing, cus­toms, and tra­di­tions of the 16^th cen­tury. The association’s goal is to pre­serve region­al tra­di­tions and bring his­tory to life through authen­t­ic cos­tumes. With a col­lec­tion of around 1,000 hand­made Renais­sance cos­tumes, the asso­ci­ation shapes the his­tor­ic­al atmo­sphere of numer­ous events in Wit­ten­berg and beyond.

For Luther’s wed­ding, the asso­ci­ation will present an elect­or­al trav­el­ing camp on the castle lawn and depict life at the court of Fre­d­er­ick the Wise. Vis­it­ors will gain insights into courtly attire, every­day life, and the cul­tur­al tra­di­tions of the Reform­a­tion era.
