The Wittenberg Festival 30 years Luther's wedding anniversary

People love to gather at the market for music and a visit to one of the many taverns

The market square becomes a vibrant hub of market activity. Amid historic townhouses, the Renaissance town hall, and the monuments to Martin Luther and Philipp Melanchthon, a bustling atmosphere unfolds, just as it did during the Reformation.

Merchants tout their wares, artisans demonstrate their skills, musicians play fanfares, and jugglers provide entertainment. Official ceremonies lend the square a dignified atmosphere, while children can discover the colorful market bustle through their own games and hands-on activities.

Amid food, drink, and lively music in the tavern, people haggle, laugh, and celebrate — just as befits a wedding day in the 16th century.
