What a weekend! Together with around 50,000 guests, we celebrated the 30th edition of ‘Luther’s Wedding’ and brought the old town of Wittenberg to life for three days with music, fun, and great vibes.
Our heartfelt thanks go to all the visitors, clubs, artists, vendors, restaurateurs, partners, sponsors, volunteers, and the many helpers behind the scenes. With your dedication, enthusiasm, and loyalty to our festival, you made this anniversary edition something truly special.

30th Anniversary of Luther’s Wedding
From June 12 to 14, 2026, Lutherstadt Wittenberg will once again transform into a massive festival grounds. And this marks the 30th time! Join us in celebrating the 30th edition of the great Wittenberg Festival.
For three days, the historic old town will become a colorful 16th-century setting — with market bustle, parades, and a stage program that blends tradition with modern festival culture.
New for the anniversary:
For the first time, the market square will be freely accessible and, under the motto “Fanfares and Frills,” will become an open meeting place featuring historical trade, crafts, music, and culinary offerings.

- Entrance of the Luther couple & ceremonial opening

- Concerts featuring Tanzwut, Batiar Gang, and Rosenstolz Tribute, among others
- Hands-on activities, crafts & culinary delights
Luther’s wedding is a celebration of joy, festivity, and community.
Whether in elegant attire or rustic farm clothing — those who dress appropriately become part of the atmosphere. And even without a costume, the rule is: dive right into the colorful hustle and bustle, experience it together, enjoy it, and join in the celebration!

During the “Luther’s Wedding” festival weekend, Lutherstadt Wittenberg transforms into a living stage of history. At original locations, 30 historical societies bring the Reformation era to life. To help you easily immerse yourself in the world of the Middle Ages, we’ve divided the worlds of experience into four categories: Trade, Crafts, Entertainment, and Family World.

Church services at Luther’s wedding
From quiet moments and communal prayers to festive church services, the church programme at Luther’s Wedding combines faith, history and the present. A special selection of events awaits you in Wittenberg’s historic churches, providing opportunities for reflection, connection and personal blessings. You are cordially invited!
Experience two of the world’s most significant Reformation sites: St. Mary’s Church and the Castle Church of Wittenberg – both part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Surrounded by medieval history, living faith and a unique atmosphere, the churches invite visitors to discover the spiritual and cultural side of Wittenberg.
