The Kur­fürst­liche Hof zu Wit­ten­berg e.V. was foun­ded in 2015 and is ded­ic­ated to research­ing and bring­ing to life court life in Elect­or­al Sax­ony dur­ing the Renais­sance. The focus is on the work of Elect­or Fre­d­er­ick the Wise and his court, which is closely linked to the his­tory of the Reform­a­tion. The asso­ci­ation com­bines his­tor­ic­al research with vivid reen­act­ments and fosters exchanges with sim­il­arly ori­ented groups both in Ger­many and abroad.

On the occa­sion of Luther’s wed­ding, the asso­ci­ation, togeth­er with the Trachtenver­ein Wit­ten­berg e.V., will present an elect­or­al trav­el­ing camp on the castle lawn. His­tor­ic­al scenes, culin­ary offer­ings, and pro­gram activ­it­ies provide vis­it­ors with an authen­t­ic impres­sion of every­day life, cus­toms, and courtly cul­ture in the early mod­ern period.
