The Kre­ishandwerker­schaft Landkre­is Wit­ten­berg is an umbrella organ­iz­a­tion for the craft guilds in the dis­trict and, as a pub­lic-law cor­por­a­tion, rep­res­ents the interests of the region­al crafts sec­tor. It serves as the admin­is­trat­ive office for the guilds and advoc­ates for the interests of the busi­nesses vis-à-vis politi­cians and gov­ern­ment agen­cies. Its respons­ib­il­it­ies include organ­iz­ing journeyman’s exam­in­a­tions and gradu­ation cere­mon­ies, pro­mot­ing voca­tion­al train­ing, and provid­ing sup­port for career guid­ance and exchange with­in the skilled trades.

At Luther’s Wed­ding, the Kre­ishandwerker­schaft Landkre­is Wit­ten­berg par­ti­cip­ates in the fest­iv­it­ies with craft demon­stra­tions and his­tor­ic­al reen­act­ments.
