Historia Viva
The “Historia Viva” group has been participating in the Luther’s Wedding City Festival with its own encampment since 2000. Even before that, the members regularly took part in the parade and, for several years, portrayed historical figures, including Katharina von Bora. The group is united by a shared interest in the era of Martin Luther and in bringing historical daily life to life. Children are also actively involved and take part in the children’s parade as well as in camp life.
The encampment features people from the nobility’s entourage and vividly conveys the life of traveling companions from bygone eras. Craft demonstrations, braided hairstyles, and cooking in cauldrons are just as much a part of the experience as culinary offerings and program activities. With great personal dedication, the members set up their encampment entirely on their own, thereby creating an authentic historical atmosphere.
