Foun­ded in 1997, the Fan­far­en­zug Wit­ten­berg e.V. now brings togeth­er mem­bers of all gen­er­a­tions — from the young­est, aged nine, to the old­est, a proud 94 — who share a pas­sion for music and com­munity. With tra­di­tion­al fan­fare and mod­ern arrange­ments, the asso­ci­ation provides music­al accom­pani­ment for numer­ous events both with­in and out­side Luth­er­stadt. The black-and-yel­low col­ors of the uni­forms recall the his­tor­ic Ern­estines and under­score the close con­nec­tion to the city’s history.

The fan­fare band is a staple of the cel­eb­ra­tions sur­round­ing Luther’s wed­ding. In addi­tion to par­ti­cip­at­ing in the parade, the asso­ci­ation organ­izes music­al per­form­ances and con­certs. At its own camp, vis­it­ors exper­i­ence music, com­munity, and his­tor­ic camp life in a spe­cial atmosphere.
