The Bauern­gruppe Alt-Brettheim 15044 e.V. is one of the most tra­di­tion­al groups of the Peter-and-Paul Fest­iv­al in Bretten, which com­mem­or­ates the siege of the town in 1504, when cit­izens and farm­ers togeth­er defen­ded their home­land. Since 1950, the group, with around 300 mem­bers, has por­trayed the life of the fourth estate, from the hard work on the fields to cel­eb­ra­tions with dance and music.

At Luther­’s Wed­ding as well, the farm­ers’ group presents a lively camp with crafts, music, and culin­ary offer­ings. Fam­il­ies of all gen­er­a­tions par­ti­cip­ate and vividly con­vey the com­mun­al life of past times, entirely in line with their battle cry ​„Hoch lebe der Bauern­stand.“ (»Long live the peasantry.«)
