The big celebration 500 years Luther's wedding anniversary

Travelling

If possible, we ask you to avoid travelling by car and to use public transport instead. Lutherstadt Wittenberg main railway station has excellent connections to the regional and national rail network and is within walking distance of the festival site.

Travelling by bike

Bicycles can be parked outside the festival area. Additional bicycle stands will be set up on the green area in front of the zoo and in the green area parallel to Elbestraße. It is not possible to cycle through the festival grounds during the event.

Limited parking facilities in the city centre

Due to the expected high number of visitors and the large area of the festival grounds, many parking spaces in the city centre are not available as they are located within the restricted zones. Parking in the festival area is therefore not possible. Please use the signposted diversions and parking facilities. During the festival, Lutherstadt Wittenberg offers two special car parks with free parking spaces in Dobschützstraße and near the main railway station.

Further information for your visit:

Weapons ban on the festival grounds

There is a general ban on weapons at the festival. Please refrain from carrying knives or other items that could be classified as weapons under the relevant legislation. These items cannot be taken into safekeeping either.

The ban on carrying weapons does not apply to pre-registered members of traditional Wittenberg clubs and guest clubs officially invited by the town of Wittenberg. These individuals carry historical cutting and stabbing weapons exclusively in the context of staged performances, and they are registered by name in advance. They can be clearly identified by standardised features for security forces.

Photo and film shoots

Photographs and videos will be taken during the event. These will be used for public relations work and to document the event, for example on our website, on social media, and in the print and online media of Lutherstadt Wittenberg Marketing GmbH.

The recordings are made on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in public relations). When you enter the event site, it cannot be ruled out that you will be recognisable in the recordings.

If you do not wish to be photographed, please speak to our photographers directly.
