The Luther’s Wedding festival in Wittenberg received an award from the ‘Lebendige Stadt’ (Lively City) foundation on 12 June 2013 in the category ‘Best City Festival’. All in all, entries were received on behalf of 631 town and city festivals in Germany, Hungary and the Czech Republic. The awards ceremony was attended by representatives of nineteen festivals – including Luther’s Wedding – which in the jury’s opinion were the best. The motto was: “The best city festival: innovative and popular”.
